The Magic
of
Mantra

About Sanskrit Mantra
Sanskrit is a vibrational or energy-based language and chanting mantra has been practiced for thousands of years. Each letter, word or phrase of the Sanskrit language carries with it a specific
vibration or frequency. The Sanskrit alphabet contains 50 letters that correlate with the 50 petals on the 6 major chakras from the root to the brow. As the words or phrases are spoken or thought of, the petals of the chakras begin to vibrate and the corresponding chakra is energized. This is how healing is stimulated by chanting mantra!
Mantra Energetics
The subtle body is an energetic template of the physical body and spiritual body or divine self. As we chant mantra, we pull in spiritual energy from the near surround. Kundalini energy is also stimulated at the base of the spine. The practice of chanting mantra can strengthen our energy and release conditioned patterns from the mind and body and reduce karma
More about Mantra
The word mantra is derived from "manas" meaning "mind" and from "trai" meaning "to set free from." The earliest writings of mantra appear about 3000 BCE at the time of the Mahabharata, the classic epic which contains within it the Bhagavad Gita. However, mantra was passed down orally for at least 2000 before this. Rishis, or the "seers" of mantras, were able to see the mantras as sound vibrations in meditation and how they interacted with the 5 elements from which all nature (including humans) is made. In other words, the riches could see and understand how sound could be formulated into mantras.
Practicing Mantra Japa, or chanting mantra in repetition in meditation has been one of the most profoundly liberating and grounding practices I have ever employed! I have been able to clear negative emotional baggage and connect on a deeper level to my divine self - this practice is so freeing - you need to try it for yourself!
